About The Position

The Electronics Equipment Technician II provides technical support to the FAA eFast NAS TSS AMA-900 contract. Support includes, on a daily basis, training or functional environment including, but not limited to, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, system installation, removal and configuration, troubleshooting, reporting inventory and quality management system support. Requirements

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance.
  • Possess a high degree of electronic knowledge based upon targeted positions.
  • Communications system training and experience working on UHF, VHF, and HF radio and communications systems.
  • Radio Communication Links, Low Density Communication Links, Data Interchange Networks, Voice Switches, Terminal Data Links, Satellite communication systems, and Microwave Communication systems.
  • High school diploma or General Education degree (GED) and a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience; or an Associate degree and a minimum of two (2) years or relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents and support complex integrated systems in accordance with the published FAA or manufacturer guidance or documentation.
  • Perform tasks to include a wide array of complex and varying assignments and understand new technologies and methods that require the application of technical knowledge.
  • Applies judgement to the planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments, as well as provide familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits.
  • Performs testing utilizing Oscilloscopes, Digital volt/ohm meters, and other test equipment.
  • Performs fact finding and analysis, as required, to address a single activity or a routine problem, and apply established procedures where the nature of the system, feasibility, computer equipment, operating system and programming language have been decided.
  • Conducts research on routine user problems and solve them by modifying the existing system when the solutions follow clear precedents.
  • Assists higher level technicians and provides guidance to lower-level technicians.
