About The Position

Demonstrates competency in assembling and testing complex products that involve multiple PCBAs Job Description ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLER – INTERMEDIATE LEVEL LOCATION Rochester, New York SHIFT: A Shift, 7:30am – 4:00pm, Mon-Fri EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time GRADE: EA2 PRIMARY DUTIES: Demonstrates competency in assembling and testing complex products that involve multiple PCBAs. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare the workspace by gathering all necessary parts and materials to initiate or complete the customer order. This includes having all tools and the correct version of the test software available, and ready for use. Utilize Windchill (PLM) system for job-related engineering drawings, schematics, and test procedures. Perform manual assembly of narrow-band radio products according to the customer work order and work instructions (WPIs). Assemble radios with careful attention to detail, utilizing strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle small parts, wires, and intricate components. Review and adhere to the Bill of Materials (BOM) and engineering drawings, to ensure accuracy. Communicate regularly with supervisors and engineers on the status of jobs, materials, configuration issues, etc. Utilize SAP (ERP) system for job-related and operational transactions. Carry out barcode scanning tasks with an understanding of barcode principles. Connect entry-level products to test fixtures, operate and test software, troubleshoot, and identify test failures. Provide support for Manufacturing cells, as needed. May include select solder and/or performing post wave functions. Respect and professionalism with all GE co-workers, staff, management, and customers. Ability to work independently or on a team. Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor, as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One-year prior experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior electronics manufacturing experience
  • Prior experience with hand tools and small power tools
  • Ability to recognize when to reach out to Test Engineering for additional assistance or expertise.
  • Understanding of test equipment and software
  • Awareness to stop work; whether due to failing progress or potential quality or safety concerns.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through email and instant messaging.
  • General PC skills – including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Excel & Word.
  • Ability to navigate GE network and GE specific software programs.
