Become a part of the “strength within.” Hexcel is currently seeking an Electromechanical Maintenance Technician for our Amesbury, MA location.

Requirements

  • Read and follow written, and verbal work instructions.
  • Ability to comprehend electrical schematics and appropriately trouble shoot down equipment.
  • Demonstrates full understanding of equipment on the floor.
  • Demonstrates independent problem solving on equipment and works with the original equipment manufacture or third-party vendors as part of the problem solving.
  • Accurately record data legibly in real time.
  • Ability to work independently and work as a team.
  • Maintains high levels of communication and respect for team members.
  • Forklift experience a plus
  • Must be detail oriented and possess good organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent, required.
  • Minimum of 5years’ experience required, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Formal training in electrical component troubleshooting and repair.
  • Experience with two or more of the following skill areas: industrial electricity, PLC systems, servo motors and drives, fabrication, plumbing, and mechanical systems including hydraulic and pneumatic.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Clearance
  • Electrical License (Journeyman or Masters) a plus
  • This position is restricted to U.S. citizens due to U.S. federal government contracts that require the employment of only persons who are U.S. citizens.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree from a technical college is a plus.
  • Knowledge in CNC Machine installation, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration, desired.
  • Experience with Siemens, FANUC and Allen Bradley PLC controls a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, trouble shoot, and repair all plant equipment and machines including facilities and building maintenance. Equipment include but not limited to: CNC machines, ovens, and autoclaves.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance of all equipment.
  • Read and accurately analyze technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders to perform required tasks.
  • Ability to research beyond resources at hand to resolve technical problems with production equipment.
  • Relocate equipment and connect to required utility sources.
  • Create and maintain record of repair, calibrations and tests.
  • Enters required information into the computer maintenance management system (CMMS) to create reports.
  • Communicate updates to coworkers, production and management on the status of down equipment.
  • Design and fabricate fixtures, replaces defective components and wiring and adjusts mechanical parts using hand tools.
  • Aligns, adjusts and calibrates equipment according to specifications.
  • Support production needs by working overtime, on-call shifts, and call in as needed for emergency coverage, breakdowns or completing work backlog.
  • Track and record daily work.
  • Utilizes JSA's, safe work practices, and other safety tools, including appropriate personal protective equipment, to perform job assignments in a safe and efficient manner.
