Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an Electromechanical Engineer to join our team in Sunnyvale, CA! In this highly technical role, you will support the mechanical design of antenna systems for critical space missions.

Requirements

  • Understanding of aerospace structural design principles and material selection
  • Understanding of mechanical test methods
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling and engineering drawings (i.e. CREO, DSR6)
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance; US citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to collaborate in highly integrated, cross-functional engineering environments
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
  • Aerospace/defense industry experience, including hands-on design and test background
  • Expertise in test execution, anomaly resolution, and system performance investigations
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability in driving complex tasks to closure
  • Broad technical experience including mechanisms, antennas, composites, electronics, and test support equipment
  • Advanced proficiency with CREO and Windchill
  • Expertise in environmental and structural testing (static, vibration, acoustic, modal, shock, RF) of aerospace hardware
  • Innovative problem-solving skills for addressing anomalous system behavior
  • Knowledge of RF hardware, materials, and components (cables, connectors, hybrids, LNAs)

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance in antenna design, integration, and analysis
  • Develop CAD models and simulations of loading, deployment motions, and separation events
  • Execute test plans (static, vibration, modal, shock, separation dynamics) and analyze results
  • Support requirements definition, test monitoring, data analysis, and correlation to predictions
  • Provide technical support for production, including resolution of vendor changes, quality non-conformances, and drawing updates
