About The Position

HII Mission Technologies is seeking an Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams executing advanced research, development, prototyping, and field demonstration efforts in support of the GRIMM EW program. This role is responsible for full lifecycle project execution — cost, schedule, technical performance, and customer delivery — across hardware sensor development, software/firmware implementation, system integration, and operational demonstrations. The Project Manager will serve as the primary interface between engineering teams, program leadership, customers, and external partners while driving rapid innovation in contested electromagnetic environments.

Requirements

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
  • Experience leading engineering teams developing complex technical systems — preferably EW, RF, sensors, defense electronics, or mission systems.
  • Proven project/program management experience in DoW or defense technology environments.
  • Strong understanding of system development lifecycles including hardware prototyping, software/firmware development, integration & test, and field demonstrations.
  • Ability to manage cost, schedule, and performance across multiple simultaneous efforts.
  • Excellent communication skills with engineers, leadership, and government customers.
  • Experience coordinating technical resources across disciplines.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a secret level security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Active secret security clearance.
  • Background in Electromagnetic/Electronic Warfare systems, RF sensor development, SIGINT/ESM/EA technologies, or software-defined/cognitive EW systems.
  • Experience supporting DoW R&D programs, rapid prototyping initiatives, and field experiments/operational demonstrations.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering processes and technical reviews.
  • Prior experience working directly with government program offices, labs, or operational users.
  • Ability to travel for integration events, field demos, and customer engagements.
  • Experience managing subcontractors or industry partners.
  • Knowledge of defense contracting environments (FAR/DFARs a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams developing next-generation EW sensor payloads, cognitive/software-defined systems, and integrated EW capabilities.
  • Own project cost, schedule, scope, and technical execution for multiple R&D and demonstration efforts funded by DoD customers.
  • Plan and execute system development from concept through prototype build, lab integration, and field demonstration events.
  • Coordinate hardware, software, firmware, test, logistics, and operations resources to meet program objectives.
  • Manage risk, dependencies, and technical challenges across fast-paced R&D efforts.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Prepare and present program status, technical progress, and financial reporting to leadership and government stakeholders.
  • Support customer reviews, design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR), integration events, and operational exercises.
  • Drive continuous improvement in execution processes, communication, and delivery velocity.
  • Ensure compliance with security, quality, export control, and program governance requirements.
