About The Position

CACI's Ascent Vision Technologies (AVT) team in Belgrade, MT, is hiring an Electro Optical Technician to join their organization. As part of CACI’s Spectrum Superiority Line of Business, AVT manufactures best-in-class gyro-stabilized Gimbal systems designed for a wide variety of applications. Our pioneering systems are supporting airborne, ground, and maritime missions around the world. We specialize in fully integrated solutions for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), and counter drone operations for the defense and aerospace industry. As an Electro Optical Technician, you will play a key role in assembling and testing gyro-stabilized camera systems, from individual components to complete gimbal assemblies. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of these advanced systems. Additionally, you will support a range of other tasks such as conducting inspections, working with Quality Management Systems (QMS), handling Return Material Authorizations (RMAs), and contributing to various assigned projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting and repair processes related to electronics or electro-mechanical manufacturing assembly.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Must possess excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have the discipline to follow written and verbal directions closely.
  • Must be able to sit and focus for long periods.
  • Must be able to explain issues encountered during manufacturing and work with appropriate individuals to solve the problem.
  • Must adhere to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and 5S principles at all times.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree (AA).
  • Experience or knowledge in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Previous manufacturing experience, especially with precision tools in delicate products and/or repair operations.
  • Previous Mechanical assembly and troubleshooting experience.
  • Local to the Bozeman, MT area.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble gyro-stabilized camera systems according to detailed design drawings and build procedures.
  • Calibrate assembled systems to ensure they meet specified performance standards.
  • Test commercial, military, and other customer aerospace components, subassemblies, and systems to verify functionality and performance.
  • Diagnose and repair defects or malfunctions in aerospace components and systems.
  • Document test results and repair actions taken.
  • Read and interpret design drawings, build procedures, guidelines, and standard practices.
  • Follow established procedures to ensure that product specifications are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly, calibration, testing, and repair activities.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools to perform assembly and repair tasks.
  • Utilize electric meters and other diagnostic equipment to test and calibrate systems.
  • Operate material handling equipment as needed to move components and assemblies.
  • Perform other activities as assigned by the manager, which may include special projects, process improvements, or assisting with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Return Material Authorization’s (RMA).
