Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an Electro-Optical AI&T Manager to join our team in Sunnyvale, CA ! The Optical Talent Center is seeking a senior leader to direct Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) activities, manage the optical labs, and provide program level support for optical AI&T initiatives. This hybrid role balances hands on AI&T oversight, laboratory operations, and cross functional program coordination to deliver cutting edge optical capabilities for aerospace and defense customers. We are also looking for the ability to build and maintain relationships, collaborate with others and manage interpersonal dynamics. The selected candidate should be comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment while simultaneously working multiple, diverse tasks and projects. #LI-CS1 #SpaceOptical

Requirements

  • Experience leading Assembly, Integration & Test teams in aerospace/defense or high tech R&D.
  • Experience with optical metrology equipment and test station maintenance.
  • Experience in hardware integration, functional testing, qualification, and/or environmental testing of optical systems.
  • Laboratory experience with hardware, such as for research, prototyping, and/or production.
  • Experience leading teams and managing budgets.
  • Must have the ability to obtain & maintain a TS/SCI w/Poly security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to lead cross functional teams, manage multi million dollar budgets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • At least 3 years leading Assembly, Integration & Test teams in aerospace/defense or high tech R&D.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Optics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree (M.S./Ph.D.) preferred.
  • Strategic Vision & Execution

  • Multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge and experience
  • Ability and desire to be flexible and do a lot of different types of tasks rather than a narrowly defined role
  • Familiarity with Automation Framework (AF).
  • Knowledge of passive and active remote sensing, including optical imaging systems, detectors and focal plane arrays, coherent and direct detection laser radar, radiometry, Fourier/wave optics, beam propagation, and/or atmospheric sciences, optical detection physics and methodologies, signal/image processing
  • Active TS/SCI w/Poly
