About Pacific Fusion Pacific Fusion was founded in 2023 with the mission to power the world with abundant, affordable, clean energy. We are rapidly designing and building a pulsed magnetic fusion system to achieve net facility gain (more fusion energy output than stored energy input). Why This Role Matters As an Electro-Mechanical Technician , you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering and delivery teams in setting up automated manufacturing lines and in the assembly, testing, and validation of electrical and mechanical components integral to our fusion energy systems. Your technical skills, attention to detail, and proactive approach are fundamental to our success.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a technician in a hands-on setting; lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols.
  • Extensive experience operating a forklift and using hand and power tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience setting up a new manufacturing facility, ideally in a startup environment.
  • Experience owning and mastering machine shop tools (lathe, mill, CNC, drill press, etc.).
  • Experience building and scaling a team through interviewing, hiring, and training other technicians.
  • Experience with automation equipment and processes.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Background in hands-on trades such as machining, welding, construction, or auto mechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Receive deliveries and control inventory of equipment and manufacturing supplies.
  • Play a key role in setting up the manufacturing site by installing equipment, facilities, and storage.
  • Draft and finalize SOPs, safety procedures, and other related documentation.
  • Lead the assembly, installation, and maintenance of our fusion systems.
  • Support the engineering team during the design, development, and testing phases of the fusion system.
  • Help troubleshoot, repair, and optimize equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (including electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers) to ensure systems integration and effectiveness.
  • Maintain the manufacturing environment via 5S principles, ensuring that all tools, equipment, and workspaces are clean, safe, and organized.
  • Comply with all applicable safety and regulatory requirements, including ISO, state, and federal regulations, as well as those specific to the company.
  • Shifts may rotate as we will ramp to 24/7 operations.
