A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE & REPAIR TECHNICIAN As an Industrial Electro-Mechanical Technician, you play a key role in keeping the facility systems and equipment operations running and leading continuous improvement projects. Tasks include daily inspections, preventive maintenance and repair work orders. Minimum Qualifications for An Industrial Maintenance & Repair Technician As an Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be required to show a strong knowledge of Industrial Electrical Components (120V to 480V motors); steam systems, hydraulics; pneumatics; mechanical maintenance; blueprint reading, LOTO and industrial test equipment.

  • Ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams
  • Ability to analyze problems, recommends solutions, and initiating repairs
  • Attention to detail and excellent follow up skills
  • Must be self-motivated with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs
  • Must be able to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color coding
  • Flexibility to bend/stoop, squat, and kneel repetitively during shift
  • Ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for a shift
  • Ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for a shift
  • Ability to walk extensively throughout the plant for a shift.
  • Pre-employment physical and Drug test

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electrical control and distribution equipment (switches, relays, circuit breakers, control panels), variable frequency drive systems, and programmable logic control (PLC) systems.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain motor control centers, motor start circuits, control loops, and related equipment.
  • Install electrical conduit, pull and terminate wiring.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems.
  • Use electrical/electronic testing equipment such as multi-meters, ammeters, and megohm meters to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Fabricate parts not commercially available, using machine and hand tools to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining scheduled maintenance programs for plant equipment within CMMS
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is essential
  • Knowledge of HVAC and/or gas burner systems and controls is preferred.
