About The Position

As part of our dynamic and growth-driven team, we’re seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician in our Processing Machinery Test and Assembly shop area based in Canton, MA to build, customize, assemble, and troubleshoot new automated food packaging machinery. This role is ideal for a mechanically and electrically skilled technician who enjoys working in a shop environment, taking ownership of projects, and seeing complex equipment come together from start to finish. You’ll work closely with engineering, production, and senior technicians to ensure machines are built to Reiser’s high standards and ready to perform in customer facilities around the world.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical assembly, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair.
  • Strong hands-on experience with industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of mechanics, basic pneumatics, and electrical controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and build documentation.
  • Familiarity with common hand tools, electrical tools, and basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Comfort working in a physically active, shop-based environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Food processing or packaging machinery experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, and customize highly automated food processing machinery and related ancillary equipment.
  • Interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to support the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of processing machinery.
  • Manage machine build and customization projects, coordinating parts and materials with internal teams and taking ownership from start to completion.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical setup, troubleshooting, service, and repair of packaging equipment.
  • Assemble and disassemble complex machinery involving mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Perform software uploads, configuration updates, and graphical interface loading on HMIs, PLCs, and VFDs using laptop and USB connections, supporting platforms including Allen-Bradley, Control Techniques, and Sigmatek.
  • Work hands-on with pneumatics, electrical and mechanical controls, AC/DC motors, and high-voltage systems (240/480V).
  • Train alongside senior technicians to learn proper materials, parts selection, and machine build processes.
  • Apply a continuous improvement mindset to machine performance, safety, and build quality.
  • Work primarily first shift hours, with occasional weekend overtime as business needs require.
