About The Position

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our Industrial Controls team at our corporate headquarters/campus in Northbrook, IL. In this hands-on role, you will work directly with cutting-edge technology and contribute to testing and evaluating industrial control panels. Demonstrated knowledge of electrical/electronics fundamentals. Preferred: Some knowledge of high-power systems (240V/480V, 3-phase). Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers. Mechanical aptitude and experience using power tools and performing basic building tasks. Collaborative mindset and willingness to work in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to integrate automation into routine testing processes. Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $42,000 to $56,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours). Initiates recommendations for new equipment designs and recommends solutions to observed test problems. Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and engineering management. May communicate with clients during test setups to discuss test methods and/or test results. Operates with minimal supervision within defined limits of responsibility. Records observed or calculated data on appropriate UL forms and prepares data sheets and test reports. May plan tests, evaluate test results and report opinions and interpretations, as directed. Integrates basic continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job. Communicates with management and technical staff to provide suggestions for new equipment, processes, and forms to improve accuracy and efficiencies.

Requirements
