About The Position

Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Electro-Mechanical Systems Intern (part-time, 15-20 hours per week, summer 35-40 hours per week). This position will be in Springfield, MO. Summary: The Electro-Mechanical Systems Intern will assist in analyzing, assembling, testing, and troubleshooting electronic and mechanical systems under supervision. The intern will support prototyping, 3D printing, and mechanical design projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams and maintaining laboratory operations.

Requirements

Pursing a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering (or related fields).

Responsibilities

Analyzing circuits using multi-meters, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Conducts routine experiments and process data for routine work under supervision.
Responsible for communicating with supervisor and team members.
Assemble electronic systems using various tools including soldering iron, heat gun, etc.
Assist with maintaining laboratory cleanliness and organization.
Learn and maintain mechanical and electrical systems under the supervision of an engineer.
Print prototype 3D parts using a 3D printer.
Work on projects/matter/s of limited complexity in a support role; work will be closely supervised.
Assemble and test devices.
Monitor, troubleshoot and fix problems.
Work with cross-functional team to create mechanical designs, such as enclosures, actuators, jigs, molds, and test fixtures.
Participate in internal/external technical presentations and industrial publications.
