About The Position

OMAX, a top waterjet manufacturer and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hypertherm Associates, is seeking full-time Electro-Mechanical Assemblers for its Kent, WA location. This role involves working a (4) 10-hour day schedule (Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM) as part of a team. Assemblers will perform various tasks using standard processes, documentation, systems, and tools to assemble products with manual and power tools, fixtures, hoists, and precision measuring equipment. Key responsibilities include assembling small to large electrical and mechanical components, routing wires, installing low voltage electrical and electronic components, interpreting bills of materials, reading blueprints and schematics, and troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic/electrical operating systems with minimal supervision. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with soldering and testing connections
  • Experience working on larger electrical components
  • Basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to interpret drawings and schematics
  • Ability to read instructions and use a tablet to navigate a material selection and pick parts needed for assembly
  • Relevant experience could also include electrical maintenance on vehicles, experience installing/repairing/troubleshooting electrical installations (wiring in a building, alarm systems, telecom, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Electro-mechanical assembly experience
  • Experience with Ohm/volt meters and measuring devices such as calipers and dial indicators
  • Attention to detail and electro-mechanical troubleshooting
  • Experience and exposure to 5S and lean principles
  • Vocational or accredited certification within the electro-mechanical field

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to perform a variety of tasks using standard processes, documentation, systems, and tools to assemble products
  • Assemble products using manual and power tools, fixtures, hoists, and precision measuring equipment
  • Assemble small to large electrical and mechanical components
  • Route wires
  • Install low voltage electrical and electronic components such as circuit boards, communication (CAT5) and power cables, terminal boxes, main control switch panels, and instrument panels to be used in higher-level assemblies
  • Interpret bill of materials and read basic blueprints and schematics following written procedures
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic/electrical operating systems
  • Complete assigned tasks with little supervision
