About The Position

Works under general supervision of Maintenance Supervisor to install and repair electrical systems, apparatus of industrial machinery and equipment throughout the facility. The selected candidate will be offered a pay rate based on prior industrial experience, but not less than $40.00/hour. The shift hours of this position are Monday - Friday 2pm - 10pm. Employees assigned to second shift, are also eligible for a $3.25/hour shift premium. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Install power supply wiring & conduit for installed machines and equipment. Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and light fixtures and replaced damaged/broken wires/cables Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches and remotes and positions sensing devises Diagnoses/repairs or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors Assist with Maintenance Mechanics when necessary with various mechanical duties Pulls 69KV fuses when needed to work on furnaces Requirements Critical Competencies Proficient at working with up to 600 VAC, including 480 VAC, 277 VAC 12 VAC volt controls, 24 VDC controls and a working knowledge of programing inverters Proficient using PLC Applications (Rockwell Industrial Automation) Proficient in reading and understanding electrical schematics Working knowledge of motor controls and drives Experience in Lean and/or Continuous Improvement Processes preferred. Basic knowledge of the National Electric Code Education and Experience Requirements Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Certification in related field from votech or trade school with 3+ years in a professional setting or will consider equivalent education and experience Journeyman’s card recognized by DOL or PA preferred. Will be required to obtain Journeyman card for continuous employment Work environment Noise – Regular exposure to noise levels at or above 85 decibels during shift. Hearing protection required in designated areas of plant. Dust – Exposure to dust particles throughout plant. Designated areas required to wear respiratory protection as defined by OSHA standards. Medical clearance required from licensed Physician before use of device. Heights – Work orders may involve heights up to 25 feet. Heat – Some exposure to heat in melt operational areas. PPE required in these areas, as defined by OSHA standards. Weather Elements – May be exposed to weather elements, primarily temperature changes, during shift. Hazardous Condition – Regular exposure to hazardous conditions. Work Area – Assignments within all areas within the plant. Physical Requirements Lifting Requirements – Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. on a regular basis. Walking – Must be able to endure regular walking through out shift. Bending, Kneeling and Squatting – Must be able to bend, kneel and/or squat during course of shift. Sitting and Standing – Must be able to stand and/or sit, potentially for long periods of time, depending on assigned duty. Arm-Hand Steadiness —Must be able to keep hand and arm steady while moving arm or while holding arm and hand in one position. Finger Dexterity — Must be able to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects. Manual Dexterity — Must be able to quickly move hand, hand together with arm, or two hands to grasp and/or manipulate objects. Control Precision — Must be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions. Near Vision — Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Requirements

  • Proficient at working with up to 600 VAC, including 480 VAC, 277 VAC 12 VAC volt controls, 24 VDC controls and a working knowledge of programing inverters
  • Proficient using PLC Applications (Rockwell Industrial Automation)
  • Proficient in reading and understanding electrical schematics
