About The Position

The Electrician works under the supervision of the Facilities Manager and Master Electrician. Repairs, replaces or installs items relating to maintenance or improvement of the physical plant and hospital facility. Responsible for the operation and safety of the mechanical/electrical systems on assigned shift. Installs electrical systems in construction related activities assure code compliance and complete work per plans and specifications. Prepares installation documents as required. Maintains “as-built” drawings and diagrams on all work. Performs security functions and corrects security problems if possible or notifies appropriate person for correction. Keeps records of maintenance up to date. This includes work orders, time sheets, preventive maintenance cards, equipment startup and shutdown procedures, corrective maintenance records, and other governmental required records. Coordinates facilities projects with internal resources and vendors; manages project budgets. Organizes and leads contractors/vendors. Attends project and maintenance meetings. Assist the Facilities team members as needed. Operates and services hospital equipment. Work on-call phone for afterhours support of building needs/activities of Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC) facilities as required. Snow removal and ice mitigation as needed. May be required to work at all CRMC sites.

Requirements

  • Current Wyoming Journeyman Electrician License
  • Valid USA driver’s license
  • Must have clean driving record that follows Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s driving guidelines
  • Ability to work variable rotating shifts
  • Ability to use duty phone for day to day requests.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and ability to interpret and locate specific items in code
  • Ability to use all required test equipment
  • Ability to give clear, concise instruction and direction to fellow workers as needed
  • Skilled in the use of various hand and power tools and standard maintenance equipment and materials
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks efficiently
  • Ability to perform mathematic calculations, including fractions and decimals
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work in small, close spaces; climb ladders; work in hot, cold, noisy environments
  • Solid computer skills in a variety of platforms to include, desktop, laptop, and iPad

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma (or equivalent certificate from an accredited program) or higher degree
  • Training in electrical controls, communications, high voltage, power distribution, generators, instrumentation and conditioning systems
