About The Position
POSITION SUMMARY: To demonstrate familiarity with basic electrical theory concerning: electrical codes, voltage, current, resistance, magnetic, D.C. and A.C. circuits, principles of operation, electrical test equipment (measuring A.C.-D.C. meters), recording equipment, preventive devices (fuses, circuit, overload relays, grounding), D.C. equipment (generators, rectifiers, motors, controls), A.C. equipment (starters, pushbutton controls, limit switches, timers, control relays), hazardous control panel wiring, motor (single phase, 3-phase, induction type, multispeed, synchronous), trouble-shooting (use of wiring diagrams for control, starting, lighting), installation (conduit, raceways, wiring and loading calculations).
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of applicable experience preferred.
- Possess (or qualifies and obtains within 1 year of employment) the State of New Jersey Qualified journeyman Electrician Certification.
- Good interaction and communications skills to include verbal and written.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and maintain an effective functioning team.
- Ability to pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervisor.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Driver,s License - current and valid New Jersey driver,s license.
- Employees must adhere to all procedural guidelines in HR Policy 1-13 including demonstrating an acceptable driving record for the duration of their employment as long as driving continues to be a responsibility of the job.
