About The Position

Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs electrical systems throughout the hospital and ancillary facilities as well as general maintenance duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of technical training or hospital experience required OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs electrical systems throughout the hospital and ancillary facilities. Position connects power sources, test circuits, prepares sketches showing locations of wiring and equipment, and repairs faulty equipment or systems. This position involves reading and interpreting blue print designs of electrical schematics and diagrams and specifications. Position is required to estimate materials and order equipment and supplies.
  • Performs tests on emergency generator and transfer equipment. Position controls fire alarm test for compliance with Joint Commission in all hospital buildings. Position inspects fire extinguishers, and fire alarm systems.
  • Performs general maintenance duties as assigned for the hospital and ancillary facilities. Position performs a combination of electrical and electronic work in the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repairs of control devises, and equipment and arrange for necessary permits. Position is responsible for PM assigned to the position. Makes modifications required for Joint Commission and complies with NFPA standards for electrical installations and revisions. Completes work orders assigned. To include ordering materials and scheduling work.
  • Participates in construction activities. Position plans new or modified electrical installations, provides access for future maintenance, makes the installation, connects the power source, and test the circuits. Complies with infection control requirements during renovations and construction activity.
  • Cross trains to other trades. Plumbing, Carpentry, lock smith and access control.
