About The Position

This position is for an Electrician in the Facility Maintenance Department at Albany Medical Center. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical power apparatus, controls, electrical systems, and equipment throughout the medical center. It also includes checking apparatus for safety hazards, installing and maintaining nurse call, signaling, and fire alarm systems, and repairing various commercial, industrial, and residential appliances. The Electrician will also assist other tradespeople and participate in snow removal services. Requirements

• Minimum High School graduate or equivalent.
• Five years’ experience as a commercial electrician or controls tech.
• Excellent working knowledge of National Electrical Codes.
• Excellent working knowledge of NFPA Healthcare Codes.
• Excellent working knowledge of NFPA Life Safety Codes.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains and repairs all functions of electrical power apparatus, controls, electrical systems, and equipment throughout the Albany Medical Center.
• Checks apparatus for safety hazards.
• Installs and maintains nurse call systems, signaling systems, and fire alarm systems.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs various types of commercial, industrial, and residential appliances and equipment.
• Assists other tradespeople to complete projects as required.
• Assists in snow removal services.
