SUMMARY Routes, wires, assembles, and installs electrical and electronic components in roll forming equipment such as main junction and terminal boxes, main control switch panels, and instruments, according to specifications, using jig boards, hand tools, and other equipment.

Requirements

  • Able to use and understand all precision measuring instruments.
  • Understands basic math concepts.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, bills of material, electrical schematics, setup sheets, etc.
  • Able to use a wide variety of tools.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to troubleshoot and determine electrical problems.
  • Offer suggestions and participate in continuous activities.
  • Must be able to travel domestic, and potentially international, 3-4 times per year for typically 3-14 days at a time.
  • Must supply own hand tools.
  • Requires a strong, related work history.
  • Ability to change assignments frequently.
  • Can work well independently and with others.
  • Observes safety and security procedures by using equipment and materials properly.
  • Is consistently at work and on time, ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for running conduit and wiring equipment per print.
  • Locate and mount sensors, safety switches, junction boxes and operator stations.
  • Install PLC's, electronic drives, breakers, motor starters, servo drives, terminal strips, etc. in motor control enclosures.
  • Design and fabricate electrical box mounting brackets.
  • Responsible for locating mistakes in electrical prints and troubleshooting wiring problems and device failures.
  • Responsible for IO checks on finished projects.
  • Responsible at teardown to thoroughly inspect equipment to ensure that all conduit and liquid tight fittings are tight, terminal block set screws, device mounting hardware secured, MCE, and J-boxes and operator stations inspected.
  • Required to install equipment at customers facility when necessary.
  • Work in other departments within the assembly shop as needed - hydraulics and mechanical assembly.
  • Accountable to follow safety procedures by using equipment and materials properly.
  • Consistently maintain a clean, well-organized work area.
  • Work in project teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
