About The Position

Perform all electrical functions, telecommunication and computer wiring, installation, and maintenance duties as required.

Requirements

• Completion of apprentice or vocational program or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Minimum 5 to 10 years experience in commercial electrical maintenance and construction
• Ability to climb ladders and high lifts, operate all power tools, test equipment, and lift to 50 lbs.; up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Possess valid City of Pittsburgh Electricians License and have a thorough knowledge of all required codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and installation of new electrical systems and equipment.
• Responsible for the telecommunications systems to include installation and repair.
• Respond to student and staff work orders for any electrical or telecommunications equipment failure, malfunction, or safety hazard.
• Perform installation and relocation as it pertains to in-house projects.
• Troubleshoot all electrical systems.
• Perform basic Life safety fire panel operations.
• Perform preventive maintenance duties as assigned.
• Respond to all University emergencies.
• Assist other trades as required, including carpentry, maintenance, and engineering.
• Perform skilled tasks with little or no supervision.
• Perform other duties as required.
