About The Position

Position Summary: Under general direction from the Facilities Supervisor, responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical controls. Lays out and install new electrical service includi n g panels, breakers, disconnect and switches. This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Installs and maintains various types of motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers and transformers. Assemble, install, test, and maintain e l ectrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand and power tools. Diagnoses malfunctioning system, apparat u s and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Installs and monitors performance of i n stalled electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments or replacements. Installs grounding leads. Interprets blueprints; works from sketches or verbal instructions. Lays out, assembles, installs, tests, repai r s, and adjusts electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment, wiring and new services to include panels, breakers, and conduit. Monitors motors transformers, and lighting fix t ures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications. Repairs, install, replaces and tests electr i cal circuits, equipment and appliance using appropriate tools and testing instruments. Orders electrical supplies, maintains adequa te stock to repair electrical problems. Ensures proper care in the use and maint e nance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components Advise enterprise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Test electrical system and continuity of c i rcuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeter, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. Prepare sketches or follow blue print to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conforma n ce to building and safety codes. Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required. Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service or replace electronic devices, and systems. Schedule repairs, installations and electrical inspections. Start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements. Service electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar electronic devices. Install, repair, and maintain communication cables, power distribution cables, and then splicing pieces as required. Maintain accurate records of all work performed, inclusive of circuit numbers, wiring method, and location of any devices and or splices. Notify Supervisor/Manager of potentially dangerous electrical equipment noted and corrective action taken. May operate company vehicles or equipment as assigned. Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, unless waived by Human Resources Management.
  • Completion of an accredited four (4) year electrical apprenticeship program or an equivalent combination of vocational trade school, junior technical college, or on the job training is required.
  • A valid California Driver’s License is required
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license.
  • Knowledge of the methods and practices used in electrical work.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems including planning additions or modification on secondary circuits.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices.
  • Skill in the safe operation of power tools and shop equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment.
  • Ability to install and maintain motors, lighti n g fixtures, generators, circuit breakers and transformers.
  • Ability to install grounding leads.
  • Ability to read commercial electrical blueprints and apply NEC through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction work.
  • Ability to install and maintain motors, weldi n g equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers and transformers.
  • Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace and test electrical circuits, equipment and appliance.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical con t rols, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English.
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds a n d with co-workers at all levels.

  • The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50-100 pounds.
  • Requires ability to climb ladders and have stamina for constant walking, bending, stooping, reaching and pushing of medium to heavy weight items and equipment on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work off ladders, powered lifts and scaffolding to 25 feet.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
