About The Position

Primary Function:Assemble, install, and test all engine electrical equipment, wiring, and components. Collaborate with test personnel to troubleshoot electrical and electronic system issues during engine run-in tests.

Requirements

• This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data.
• Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship.
• Acceptable proof of US Citizenship is a US Passport, US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Review assignments, wiring diagrams, engineering, and vendor specifications, as well as verbal or written instructions.
• Build electrical sub-assembly systems, install, and wire all electrical systems on engines.
• Inspect and test electrical equipment and wiring, performing tasks such as: Verifying wiring, connections, and equipment relays against schematic diagrams. Checking and adjusting relays, voltage regulators, and other components. Inspecting and testing rotating equipment to ensure it meets specifications. Connecting AC/DC power supplies and testing low-voltage circuits. Checking and setting frequency relays and testing generators per engineering specifications. Starting rotating equipment and performing operational checks. Verifying operation of electronic devices such as transmitters, receivers, and amplifiers. Diagnosing faulty equipment operations using meters and testers, and making necessary adjustments.
• Load PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programs, troubleshoot issues, and repair minor defects. Major PLC issues will be referred to electrical engineers.
• Verify functionality and troubleshoot engine control and safety systems according to engineering instructions.
• Conduct testing of aftermarket parts for nuclear dedication, which may include developing test fixtures and procedures based on engineering guidance.
• Perform heavy lifting as required, using hoists or cranes for heavier materials.
