About The Position

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS · Effectively troubleshoot electrical circuits of varying voltage ranges, 120, 480, etc. · Install and trouble shoot all types of lighting circuits and ballasts · Terminate and phase AC motors, DC motors, and generators · Perform monthly inspections of equipment · Hook up equipment for outage projects such as welders, generators, light plants, pumps, etc. · Communicate with, share knowledge and train other technicians as needed · Complete work with limited quality defects ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS · Assist in special projects as needed · Answer telephone calls, complete service reports and maintain records · Participate and occasionally lead safety meetings · Provide daily progress updates to supervisor and dispatchers · Perform work for mechanical, machining, welding, or general laborer areas as requested · Travel may be required with overnight stays QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY · Minimum high school diploma or equivalent · Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in the trade · Possess a current MSHA electrical certification and maintain/renew yearly · Valid Texas driver’s license · Able to work rotating shifts · Able to work safely and influences others to do the same · Able to work alone on tasks assigned · Proficient in print reading and interpretation · Work with prints and comprehend information with little assistance · Able to safely use rigging and lifting equipment · Knowledgeable in running and bending all types of conduit (EMT, RIGID, PVC, etc.), in motor control circuits · Able to maintain rotating DC motors and generators · Able to layout and terminate breaker panels per local code requirements · Understand and apply transformer theory for terminating equipment · Able to use test equipment including multi-meters, amp clamps, meggers, etc. PREFERRED · Current Journeyman certification · Additional technical schooling or on the job maintenance planning training PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS · Exposed to dirt, grease, dust, noise, extreme temperatures and other elements · Heavy lifting – up to 50 lbs · Prolonged walking and standing · Working in elevated position, climbing, bending, stooping and squatting · Use of all necessary personal protective equipment This job description may not be inclusive of all assigned duties, responsibilities, or aspects of the job described and may be amended at any time with or without notice at the sole discretion of the Employer. Requirements
