About The Position

PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating, through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We have an opportunity at our Martinez Refinery in California and are seeking a talented Electrician to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy. The Electrician reports to the Electrical Shop Team Leader. This teams plans and executes all electrical work for the refinery. The successful candidate will work to install, troubleshoot, and maintain components of all power and electrical control systems in an industrial setting. This includes maintenance and installation of switch gears, power breakers, transformers, protective relays, motors, controls, conduit systems, and terminations of various types of cable. An understanding of the National Electrical Code and application of Electrical Safe Work Practices are core expectations for this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3,000 hours of work experience in the electrical trade
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Candidate must have an active TWIC card or be able to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Work Schedule: Participation in callout/standby coverage
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to navigate stairs
  • At heights
  • Outside in inclement weather
  • Occasionally wearing a respirator, Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR), or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)

Nice To Haves

  • Qualified as a journeyman in the electrical trade
  • Experience with tools and diagnostic equipment used to troubleshoot, repair, replace and test electrical circuits, and equipment.
  • Electrical Safety Training including knowledge of construction and repair of electrical systems up to 13.8KV required

Responsibilities

  • Installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining components of all power and electrical control systems. Including Motors, Safety Critical Devices and motor operated valves.
  • Operating test equipment to include multi-meters, meggers, rotation testers, and high potential testers
  • Performing mechanical procedures while documenting and maintaining accurate information
  • Interpreting blueprints, loop drawings, and electrical schematics
  • Operating refinery vehicles, hand tools, and equipment including power lift equipment and man lifts
  • Performs preventative maintenance on power and control systems
  • Installs and monitors performance of electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement
  • Research documentation, validates field settings, performs the application of calibration or adjustment, and documenting results
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, tests, repairs and adjusts all types of electrical equipment, wiring, and conduit systems
