About The Position

The Electrician II is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures within the campus. This role requires a thorough knowledge of electrical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. May work on campus generators and maintain associated records. This position is also responsible for leading electrical teams’ large projects. Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Valid Masters Journeyman Electrician License according to ACA 17-28-304
  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
  • At least seven years of experience in electrical trade
  • Valid Driver's License in good standings
  • At least one year of leadership experience

Nice To Haves

  • At least eight years experience in electrical installation, maintenance and repairs
  • Successful completion of an Electrical Apprentice Program
  • Experience in control technology – fire alarms, access control, and cameras

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, and other components
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and tools
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repairs
  • Plan and execute electrical installations and repairs in accordance with local and national codes and regulations
  • Collaborate with other trades and contractors as needed to complete projects efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on tasks
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
  • Respond to emergency situations promptly and efficiently
  • Knowledge and use of a CMMS/Work Order Management system and associated mobile platforms, if applicable
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products such as email, spreadsheet
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff or apprentices
