About The Position

This position is for an Electrical Wiring Designer 2, requiring onsite support in Richland, WA, with a hybrid work arrangement. The role involves working and leading others in a project team environment to design, modify, and upgrade new and existing power plant electrical systems. Under the guidance of an Electrical Project Lead, the designer will collaborate with multi-disciplined engineering and design teams to develop various electrical diagrams and schedules, including single-line, relay and metering, AC and DC schematic, synchronizing, point-to-point wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and grounding layouts. Key tasks include producing electrical wiring drawings, reviewing and incorporating vendor drawings, and assisting in field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities. The successful candidate must be capable of obtaining unescorted access to a nuclear station.

Requirements

  • An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience.
  • Five or more years of detailed wiring design experience in the development of single-line, and relay and metering diagrams, including medium-voltage and 480V systems.
  • Experience in the review of electrical layout drawings involving electrical equipment outlines and interface points.
  • Familiarity with digital control systems.
  • The ability to perform the following: Produce wiring diagrams and schematics for installers and electricians, Assist engineers with initial design requirements, Conceptualize plans and details to accurately convey wiring termination requirements.
  • Extensive Microstation and/or AutoCAD design experience on power plants or large facility projects.
  • A thorough understanding of drafting and design practices and theories.
  • The ability to interface and communicate with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the power plant design process.
  • Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station.
  • Must not require sponsorship for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.
