About The Position

The Electronic Trades Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing a team of electronic technicians in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, control circuits, motors, and automation equipment. This role ensures safe, reliability, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment while driving continuous improvement, team development, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Leadership and team development in an industrial maintenance environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of motor controls (DC, single-phase, three-phase) and replacement.
  • Strong understanding of circuit protection (fusing, breaker, overload sizing).
  • Expertise in control wiring (analog/digital signals, safety circuits).
  • Advanced electrical diagnostics (multimeter, megger, oscilloscope use).
  • PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting.
  • Industrial networking and communication systems (Ethernet, system integration).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, automation, or controls.
  • Strong working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex electrical and control systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of electrical codes, safety regulations, and preventative maintenance practices.
  • Ability to work independently and lead within a cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of electronic technicians responsible for plant electrical and automation systems.
  • Oversee installation, wiring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of motors, drives (VFD/servo), and electrical components.
  • Provide technical leadership in diagnosing issues related to control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks.
  • Ensure proper sizing and installation of breakers, fuses, wiring, and transformers according to specifications and code.
  • Lead troubleshooting of DC, single-phase, and three-phase electrical systems.
  • Ensure safety circuits, safety modules, and protective devices are properly configured and maintained.
  • Oversee calibration and troubleshooting of control systems (0–10 VDC, 4–20 mA, PNP/NPN).
  • Support advanced diagnostics including insulation testing, phase-to-phase testing, and use of electrical diagnostic tools.
  • Drive preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including schematics, wiring updates, and system changes.
  • Partner with production and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve system performance.
  • Lead daily team meetings focused on safety, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, electrical codes, and food safety standards.
