Atlantic Constructors offers competitive benefits, for more information check out our comprehensive list on our website Acibuilds.com Summary/Objective: The Electrical Shop Manager's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing the day-to-day operation of the trade shop including safety, leadership, production, materials, and quality assurance over the course of the fabrication process. Essential Functions: Is responsible for safety compliance and adherence to all OSHA, VOSHA, and ACI safety standards. This may include but is not limited to safety meetings, taking corrective actions, administering aid, investigating accidents, and reporting on safety matters. Sets goals as related to scheduling and assigns workloads to the shop foremen/leaders to meet necessary production goals. Responsible for start-up and manning a second shift including assigning workload goals for shift including leadership delegation. Proofs all incoming work to the shop for errors, viability of manufacturing, ordering, and safety. This may include entering work via a CNC/CAM program for use by the shop equipment and/or tracking software. Responsible for shop production and tracking reports. Responsible for maintaining all scheduling for work in progress as per the shop (trade) and communicates any changes in deliverables to the appropriate operational team members. Serves as the main point of contact if any external scheduling changes/priorities are needed. Orders materials and consumables as necessary for projects which may include any number of the following (gathering quotes, placing orders, writing purchase orders, tracking orders, billing, and updating statuses). This includes meeting with our vendors and assuring we are getting the best value for our needs. Evaluates and maintains the manpower needs of the shop which includes hiring and managing disciplinary measures to promote a viable workforce. Manages all shop time which includes any added temp labor including time and billing. Is responsible for all shop equipment and tools which includes managing tool accounts, rentals, scheduling repairs, setting maintenance schedules, managing tool lists, and setting budgetary needs for new equipment. Oversees inter-trade QA/QC standards to ensure compliances are being followed including corrective actions where/when needed. Leads the shop team to improve processes for safety, better efficiency, time management, and materials usage. This also includes working with and/or communicating with the Fabrication manager on such improvements. Provides ongoing training and development in leadership practices where/as needed. Evaluates and conducts year-end reviews of our workers. May be involved with smaller spot estimates and estimate verifications. May attend some/all/but not limited to (turnover meetings, kickoff meetings, prefab meetings, schedule meetings, production meetings, and planning meetings). Performs other duties as assigned.
