About The Position

Temp To Full-Time Electrical Parts Counter Sales job involves assisting customers (electricians, contractors, DIYers) at a supply store by identifying, selling, and supporting electrical products, requiring strong product knowledge and customer service to fulfill orders in-person, via phone/email, process transactions, manage inventory, and potentially offer technical advice, with duties like quoting, stocking, and maintaining sales systems.

Requirements

  • Sales & Communication: Excellent verbal skills, negotiation, and ability to build rapport.
  • Technical Aptitude: Knowledge of electrical supplies is highly preferred, with on-the-job training often provided.
  • Customer Service: Ability to provide superior service and problem-solving.
  • Computer Skills: Familiarity with sales software, Excel, and Word is a plus.
  • Industry Exposure: Previous experience in construction or the electrical industry is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Interaction: Greet customers, understand their needs, provide product information, suggest solutions, and build relationships.
  • Sales & Order Processing: Take orders (in-person, phone, email), process payments, prepare quotes, and ensure order fulfillment, including loading products.
  • Product Expertise: Maintain knowledge of electrical components, supplies, and equipment; assist with product selection and troubleshooting.
  • Inventory & Merchandising: Stock shelves, organize the sales counter, update inventory, and promote special offers.
  • Administrative Tasks: Use sales software (CRM), log sales, and assist colleagues with warehouse duties as needed.
