About The Position

Leidos is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Assembly Technician for its National Space Systems Integration & Test team in Huntsville, AL. This role involves direct involvement in the production of electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical space flight assemblies. The technician will frequently coordinate with Planning & Production Control, Manufacturing Engineers, and Operations Leads to ensure material availability and proper documentation for floor operations. Requirements

Candidate must have a High School Diploma/GED with less than 1 year of electrical/mechanical assembly experience
Working knowledge of specialized tools and equipment used during the assembly process
Ability to read drawings or basic knowledge of reading schematics
Candidate must be able to work second shift and be able to work on a WEEKEND shift according to Business demand
Overtime as operational needs demand
Weekend coverage REQUIRED
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
Knowledge of the tools used for electro-mechanical assembly (torque drivers, crimpers, strippers) and the proper techniques required to use these tools
Basic experience reading mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing documentation
Experience working with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and technicians to develop a build strategy and identify any problems that could occur during assembly
Experience working in team environment and interacting with different functions project teams and productions teams

Nice To Haves

Experience with test operations including set-up, calibration & operation of GSE used in the production process
Experience with manufacturing, assembly, integration & test processes, procedure development & implementation
Hands-on experience with electronics assembly processes and equipment including some of these: Mechanical assembly, epoxy dispensing and curing, component/assembly test, etc.
Experience working inside a clean room
Costpoint ERP & MRP, Solumina
Experience with ISO9001/AS9100 processes
