About The Position

Key Responsibilities Electrical & Controls Leadership Lead, supervise, and support the electrical maintenance team, including electricians and technicians, ensuring safe and effective execution of maintenance activities. Provide hands-on troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, PLC-based controls, HMIs, sensors, VFDs, servos, and automation equipment (Allen-Bradley and Siemens). Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex electrical and control system issues. Ensure plant electrical systems comply with NFPA 70, OSHA, and company safety standards. Maintenance & Reliability Plan, schedule, and prioritize electrical maintenance work orders using the CMMS to support production requirements and minimize downtime. Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical and automation systems. Support root cause analysis for electrical failures and implement corrective and preventive actions. Maintain and improve site utilities including electrical distribution, compressed air, natural gas, water, fire protection, and security systems. Capital Projects & Continuous Improvement Support and lead electrical and controls aspects of capital projects, including scope development, cost estimation, vendor coordination, and installation. Justify, submit, and track Capital Authorization Approval Requests (CAARs) related to electrical and automation improvements. Plan and execute equipment upgrades, new installations, and facility modifications with minimal production disruption. Collaborate with engineering, production, and safety teams to drive productivity, quality, and safety improvements. Documentation & Procurement Develop and maintain electrical schematics, PLC documentation, work instructions, and troubleshooting guides. Create and manage purchase orders (P.O.s) for electrical parts, services, and capital equipment in alignment with budget constraints. Maintain accurate spare parts lists and critical inventory for electrical and controls systems. Support annual inspections, certifications, and audits related to electrical systems and utilities. People Development & Communication Train, mentor, and evaluate electrical maintenance personnel to build technical capability and promote continuous learning. Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and management regarding equipment status, project progress, and priorities. Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example in safe work practices. Perform other duties and special projects assigned by the Maintenance Manager. Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience. Minimum 5–7 years of electrical maintenance and/or controls experience in a manufacturing environment. Prior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred. Extensive PLC troubleshooting experience required; PLC programming experience highly preferred. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, VFDs, and automation equipment. Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, PLC logic, and mechanical drawings (AutoCAD experience preferred). Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and root cause analysis skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS systems. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently while effectively leading a technical team.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of electrical maintenance and/or controls experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive PLC troubleshooting experience required
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, VFDs, and automation equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, PLC logic, and mechanical drawings (AutoCAD experience preferred).
