About The Position

We are seeking a professional like you to be part of the Automation, Controls and Electrical team within the North American (NA) Technical Expertise department. In this role, you will lead electrical engineering design, maintenance & reliability efforts across our manufacturing sites, including but not limited to greenfield and brownfield capital projects, site support activities, reliability improvements, and power system studies. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (discipline engineers, project managers, plant operations, and maintenance personnel) to deliver innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions. Your responsibilities will also include providing technical guidance to less experienced I&E engineers and designers, whether in-house or from third-party firms. You will be responsible for reviewing design documentation submittals and understanding how the designs interact with manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability, and develop best practices within the production process. Your participation in teams, internal committees (Electrical Safe Working Group / RATN), and ad hoc assignments to represent the discipline are key to success.As a Electrical Maintenance/Reliability Engineer, you create chemistry by... Offering engineering expertise and leadership for low, medium & high voltage hardware & distribution systems maintenance & reliability, including electrical safety and explosion protection. Providing technical support and solutions for manufacturing site initiatives, including power system design, modeling, and testing. Ensuring maintenance & reliability of low, medium, and high voltage systems (e.g., substations, transformers, motors, VFDs, UPS). Developing and managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs utilizing SAP and maintenance history/records. Conducting electrical studies (load flow, arc flash, relay coordination, etc.) using SKM PowerTools. Supporting BASF Corporation Sites and developing NEC Code-compliant electrical projects. Reviewing and approving electrical specifications, drawings, and construction work package documentation. Function as technical reviewer during MOC process. Participating in root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and develop corrective actions. Championing long term maintenance and reliability strategies, including long range planning and TAR work scope development support. Ensuring compliance with NFPA 70E, NEC, IEEE, and company standards. Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to drive continuous improvement. Proposing value-based engineering savings, participating in continuous improvement initiatives, and working with technical, project, and management teams.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering within chemical, petrochemical, or similar manufacturing sectors.
  • Proficient and management and experience working with SKM Power Tools and SAP.
  • Robust experience driving safe, sustainable, and efficient solutions in BASF facilities.
  • Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively and passion for problem-solving and innovation.
