Electrical Maintenance Mechanic – Manufacturing Operations Based in: Alsip, IL Make your impact Do you keep lines humming, quality high, and downtime low? You will be the problem-solver who moves from diagnostics to repair to documentation—always with safety, GMP discipline, and product integrity at the forefront. Your first 90 days: what success looks like Master plant safety practices and PPE use, including steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, and hair/beard nets where required Learn the equipment landscape and stay alert to issues via radio; respond quickly and effectively Diagnose electrical faults, analyze root causes, and implement lasting fixes Read ladder logic, troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs, and tune VFD parameters Handle control wiring (24VDC, 120VAC), and work with step-up/step-down transformers Execute electrical repairs, modifications, and upgrades; document work meticulously Repair air valves, broken parts, and rebuild drive motors to keep assets reliable Proactively monitor equipment/facilities to prevent failures and protect production goals Schedule and compensation Shifts: Days 5am–5pm; Nights 5pm–5am Starting pay: $28–$31/hour Sign-on bonus: $2,100 What you bring Minimum 4 years in a manufacturing maintenance mechanic/technician position Proven experience with VFD drives and PLCs Electrical training/experience with 480V 3-phase systems and machine controls Background in manufacturing methods and process improvement programs/procedures Forklift operation capability Ability to juggle tasks in a fast-paced environment while staying detail-focused Safety-first approach with a growth mindset; completes training assigned by management Overtime availability as required Technical strengths Mechanical troubleshooting 120/208/240/480 voltage systems Electrical troubleshooting and repair Technology you will work with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen-Bradley) Conveyor systems Servo motors Compliance statements Eligible to work in the United States Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen Ability performs the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation If you are energized by complex electrical challenges and motivated by measurable results, step into a role where your skills keep production performing at its best.
