About The Position

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. Reliability Centered Maintenance Engineering The incumbent can expect the following: Conduct Reliability Centered Maintenance Analyses that support applicable and effective maintenance strategies to maximize ship mission operational availability while minimizing cost. The incumbent should be familiar with US Navy Nuclear Propulsion Plant Systems and Components to include reactor plant systems, steam and electric plant systems. Have good writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Work with multiple customers and organizations, including the US Government and Navy personnel.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Responsibilities
