The Checkers Processing Plant is the central hub for gold ore processing for the Mount Magnet, Cue, and Penny operations. With an upgrade planned to expand the current 1.9 Mtpa processing capacity and a 17-year mine life, it's an exciting time to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position provides day-to-day leadership and supervision of site electricians in a fixed plant mining environment. You will ensure safe, reliable, and compliant electrical maintenance across our processing plant and non-processing infrastructure (NPI), including camp facilities and HV distribution networks. You are an experienced and motivated Electrician with a strong background in fixed plant maintenance and a passion for leading teams. You will bring a high standard of work, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. You will also bring:

Requirements

  • WA A-Grade Electrical Licence (unrestricted)
  • Current WA Driver's Licence
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in electrical maintenance
  • HV Switching qualification
  • EWP and Working at Heights tickets
  • First Aid and CPR/LVR certification
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small, close-knit team

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate electricians in planned and breakdown maintenance
  • Oversee fixed plant electrical systems across the processing plant
  • Manage and maintain NPI assets, including borefields, accommodation camp, and site utilities
  • Support and monitor HV electrical distribution and reticulation systems
  • Ensure compliance with Mines Regulations and site-specific safety requirements
  • Mentor and support electricians, providing hands-on technical guidance
  • Contribute to shutdown planning and execution, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
