About The Position

Electrical Lead Position Summary The Electrical Lead serves as the lead and floor-level supervisor for assembly operations. This role is accountable for daily execution of assembly activities, team performance, and adherence to quality and schedule requirements. The Lead provides hands-on technical guidance across all assembly disciplines, drives a strong quality culture, and acts as the primary escalation point for production issues at the floor level.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in vehicle manufacturing or complex assembly environments
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a production or technical lead role
  • Deep cross-functional expertise in mechanical, electrical, and body/interior assembly
  • Strong understanding of quality standards, workmanship requirements, and production controls
  • Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong technical judgment and decision-making skills
  • Effective cross-functional communication and issue escalation
  • Ability to balance quality, schedule, and labor efficiency under changing priorities
  • Hands-on coaching and mentoring capability
  • Champion quality culture and accountability on the production floor
  • Ensure compliance with workmanship standards and documentation requirements
  • Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily assembly execution, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with schedules and priorities
  • Direct daily work activities, assign tasks, set expectations, and balance labor to maintain line flow and productivity
  • Serve as the technical authority across mechanical, electrical, and body/interior assembly disciplines
  • Verify electrical workmanship, coach IPC-620 practices, and interface closely with Quality on compliance and defect prevention
  • Ensure body and interior assemblies meet cosmetic standards and final sign-off readiness requirements
  • Own first-pass yield performance and lead escalation of quality, safety, or delivery risks
  • Coordinate cross-functional problem resolution with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Materials
  • Provide clear feedback to Engineering on drawing, work instruction, and BOM issues impacting build quality or efficiency
  • Lead rework prioritization and containment activities to protect downstream operations
  • Ensure documentation discipline across the team, including build records, inspections, and deviation tracking
  • Lead onboarding, certification tracking, and skills development for assembly personnel
  • Coach and develop Technicians I–III, reinforcing standard work, quality expectations, and accountability
  • Make floor-level production and quality decisions within defined authority to maintain schedule and product integrity
