About The Position

The Electrical Lab Engineer is a foundational role within our hardware team, designed for a motivated engineer eager to apply theoretical knowledge to complex, real-world electrical systems. You will be a key driver of lab efficiency, serving as the primary lead for the Electrical Engineering Lab while supporting the design, testing, and optimization of LVT’s hardware. Under the mentorship of senior engineers, you will contribute to project goals that directly impact our product’s success while developing a deep understanding of our agentic AI-driven hardware. This role is based in-office out of our facility in Spanish Fork, Utah.

Requirements

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a firm grasp of core electrical design concepts.
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to learn industry standards and foundational skills with a goal of increasing self-sufficiency.
  • Comfortable managing a laboratory environment and proficient in using standard EE bench equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.).
  • Capable of handling tasks of moderate scope and complexity that require creative problem-solving and adaptation.
  • Thrives in a team environment, effectively articulating technical findings and design impacts to the broader engineering group.
  • Able to perform basic electrical analysis and interpret data to support design improvements.
  • Disciplined in following established procedures and guidelines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and lab safety.
  • Ready to take on straightforward tasks under supervision and execute them with a high degree of accountability.

Responsibilities

  • EE Lab Management: Serve as the primary steward of the Electrical Engineering Lab, ensuring equipment is calibrated, benches are organized, and components are properly inventoried.
  • Hardware Debugging: Assist in troubleshooting and debugging simple electrical issues at the component and system levels to identify root causes and implement fixes.
  • Testing & Validation: Perform basic electrical tests and analysis, utilizing tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters to validate sub-system performance.
  • Documentation: Write and maintain clear technical documentation, including test plans, assembly instructions, and lab safety protocols.
  • Prototyping & Rework: Support the assembly and verification of electrical prototypes, including PCB soldering, wire harness fabrication, and system integration.
  • Execution & Planning: Manage routine tasks with moderate complexity, determining the scope of your individual efforts up to a week in advance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in team reviews, accepting feedback and applying lessons learned to improve departmental processes and outcomes.
