POSITION SUMMARY The E&I Supervisor is responsible for supervising, planning, and coordinating day-to-day electrical distribution, control systems, PLC programming, and instrumentation activities across the facility. This position provides hands-on leadership, technical troubleshooting support, and coaching to E&I Technicians while driving: Safety excellence Equipment reliability and uptime Continuous improvement Technology optimization This is a growth-track leadership role with long-term advancement potential.

Requirements

  • Understands both electrical fundamentals and process operations
  • Associate’s Degree or Technical Certification in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related field
  • 5+ years of industrial E&I experience
  • Proven supervisory or team lead experience
  • Strong working knowledge of: PLC processors and programming VFD drives AC/DC power systems Flow meters and pressure transmitters Loop-controlled devices
  • Experience supporting continuous process manufacturing environments
  • Must be flexible with occasional evening, weekend, or night support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities
  • Lead, coach, and develop E&I Technicians; assign work and set priorities
  • Serve as the facility PLC programming lead (troubleshooting, optimization, process improvements)
  • Analyze process trends and data to determine when programming changes are required
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for electrical failures
  • Support capital projects, shutdowns, and turnarounds
  • Review and approve E&I-related work permits
  • Maintain spare parts strategy and vendor relationships
  • Ensure proper installation, calibration, and testing of instrumentation and control systems
  • Read and interpret P&IDs and PFDs to support operations and engineering
  • Drive improvements in uptime, throughput, and process efficiency
