About The Position

An electrical general foreman plans, organizes, and manages the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. They also ensure that work is completed on time and within budget, and that safety standards are met. Electrical general foremen work closely with electrical superintendents, project managers, and other departments. They also develop relationships with subcontractors and other partners.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous construction experience
• OSHA 30 preferred
• Must successfully complete background check and drug/alcohol testing
• Must have personal hand tools
• May be required to take specialty training

Responsibilities

• Create wiring diagrams, conduit systems, and electrical panel locations
• Manage the day-to-day work of electricians, apprentices, and journeymen
• Teach electricians about safety protocols and job skills
• Diagnose electrical issues and perform repairs
• Ensure that safety equipment, materials, and tools are available and used properly
• Monitor the work of electricians to ensure it meets standards
• Coordinate schedules with subcontractors and other departments
• Provide cost estimates and projections for electrical projects
• Ensure work meets codes and contract documents
