About The Position

Electrical Foreman is a supervisor that directs apprentices, mechanics and journeymen. This role is responsible for successfully installing, testing, locating, and repairing electrical wiring, system and fixtures. Responsible for verifying correct installation. Works closely with superintendent, project managers and client to include participation in company and client meetings.

Requirements

  • General understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools
  • Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR) due to operating company vehicle.
  • Mut be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring and be able to see naturally or with correction, to safety perform designed tasks.
  • Use hands and arms to reach for, handle and manipulate objects.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and other climbing devices.
  • Carry tools and equipment.
  • Work while in stooped, kneeling, crouched, and crawling positions.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer NC contractor’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Give and follow specific directions
  • Schedule daily job site functions to include required manpower.
  • Schedule job site inspections.
  • Responsible for selecting and purchasing appropriate material, tools and equipment for assigned job.
  • Inspect completed work for compliance and specifications.
  • Accurately maintain all required documentation relating to safety, project administration, purchase orders, change orders, as-built drawings, schedule and QA/QC.
  • Submit timesheets and safety documentation.
  • Mentor and assist lower-level electricians.
  • Plan layout and install materials and/or equipment required by job.
  • Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
  • Test continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Repair faulty equipment or systems.
  • Responsible for enforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Understand and comply with company/job safety requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment.
