About The Position

Superior Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing, Inc. is a regional skilled trade service provider specializing in commercial new construction, tenant improvements, remodels, 24/7 emergency response, commercial service, and comprehensive preventive maintenance programs. As an Electrical Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing electrical repairs, upgrades, and solutions in a variety of retail environments. The ideal candidate will have experience as a journeyman commercial electrician, with strong knowledge of retail electrical installations and the ability to work independently to complete service calls. This position offers work schedules of Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday. Technicians are provided with a company vehicle and gas card, along with the flexibility to begin service routes from home or a regional shop location. The role includes a two-week training period and annual performance reviews.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of commercial electrical experience in commercial electrical service or construction roles
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and a motor vehicle background check
  • Proficient English communication skills required to write reports and emails
  • Must be able to work according to safety guidelines, CALOSHA, and workplace policies

Nice To Haves

  • California Journeyman Electrical License is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with refrigeration control wiring, Ansul Systems or HVAC motor control wiring is desired

Responsibilities

  • Journeyman Electrician experience consisting of installation, maintenance, and diagnosis of various commercial electrical components
  • Skilled at terminating and pulling wires into control centers, panels, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switchgear, receptacles, switches and/or raceways
  • Proficient troubleshooting, testing, and repairing emergency generators, automatic transfer switches and/or power distribution systems
  • Independently work-off blueprints, sketches, or schematic drawings
  • Provide informative customer service regarding the nature of the electrical repair
  • Operate company vehicles in accordance with department policies
  • Proficient with the use of cell phone communication, GPS and electronic documentation technology
  • Submit service paperwork and reports as required by the department policies
  • Available to work Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday to Thursday as part of your regular work schedule
  • Willingness to take on additional duties as needed to support the department
