Gettle is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to determinate the projected costs of electrical projects. Incumbents must accurately factor all potential costs involved in electrical bids including labor, materials, location, job duration, and other special requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial and/or industrial electric, or low voltage electric.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
  • Five years of electrical estimating experience required.
  • Valid driver's license required to travel to job sites or out-of-office meetings.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and construction-specific software programs.
  • Must be able to navigate construction sites consisting of uneven terrain, climbing stairs and ladders, and working at heights.
  • Must be able to walk long distances over uneven terrain as needed for pre-bid or construction site meetings and reviews.
  • Able to work in atmospheric conditions such as extreme cold, heat, humidity, and various weather conditions.
  • Must be able lift objects up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Review and understand project data and develop methods to execute the timely and productive.
  • Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for purposes such as planning, organizing, scheduling work, preparing bids, and selecting vendors and subcontractors.
  • Review data to determine material and labor requirements; prepare itemized lists.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation.
  • Ability to review contract documents to understand project requirements and obligations.
  • Assist in the purchasing of materials, services and subcontracts.
  • Identify areas of importance or change orders and relay related information to project manager and project foreman.
  • Attend project meetings as required by project.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
