About The Position

Hendrick Technical Solutions is a dynamic and growing force within the defense industry. We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to contribute to developing cutting-edge unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and next-generation electro-mechanical equipment. This role operates within a fast-paced, mission-critical environment, focusing on challenging and impactful projects that directly enhance national security. This engineer will be part of a collaborative team, working to redefine the future of defense electrical systems. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical field.
  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals (analog/digital circuit design, microcontrollers, power distribution, controls systems, programming)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Effective communicator, able to work well in a team setting.
  • Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or U.S. Person).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Github, DMMs, and Oscilloscopes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, and testing of electrical systems for UGV platforms and robotic prototypes.
  • Assist with wiring harness design, component sourcing, microcontroller integration, and troubleshooting of DC power systems.
  • Work alongside mechanical and design engineers to integrate electrical systems into vehicles, considering space and weight constraints.
  • Help build prototypes, conduct bench and on-vehicle tests, collect data, and recommend improvements.
  • Create and update wire harness schematics, wiring diagrams, and test reports to support the engineering team.
  • Partner with electrical technicians and multidisciplinary teams, gaining exposure to real-world engineering processes.
  • Contribute ideas to refine designs and improve performance while developing your own technical skills.
