Electrical Engineering Intern
About The Position
Are you studying Electrical Engineering and want to gain practical hands-on experience in a busy engineering department? Connexus Energy has the perfect in-person internship for you! We are looking for two Electrical Engineering Interns that will assist with a wide range of work including technical support and administrative support to the Engineering and Operations Departments, completion and editing of construction specific drawings, and much more. The internship is a temporary position requiring full-time, in-person hours at our campus located at 14601 Ramsey Blvd. Ramsey, MN 55303. Based on current requirements, hires must reside or relocate to Minnesota. This temporary position is not eligible for relocation or housing. Based in Ramsey, Connexus Energy is Minnesota’s largest electric cooperative, providing electricity, renewable energy alternatives and related services to 150,000 residential and commercial members just north of the Twin Cities. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Enrolled in and pursuing a 4-year degree in electrical engineering, preferably with a power emphasis.
- Proficient computer and Microsoft Office Skills (Excel)
- Ability to reach and create technical diagrams and schematics
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with electrical wiring
- Basic knowledge of electricity
- Ability to use drafting software
- Strong organizational skills
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Ability to read maps
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of Connexus Energy’s distribution system.
- Operate computer software applications to aid in project selection, budgeting and tracking.
- Complete and edit construction specification drawings using computer aided drafting software.
- Improve processes by automating and scripting key tasks.
- Perform system analysis using engineering analysis modeling software.
- Review and approve applications and drawings for rooftop solar installations.
