Electrical Engineering Intern Description - This opportunity is intended for conversion to a full-time role that will not offer work authorization sponsorship in the future (full-time conversion pending performance evaluation post internship and available headcount). Interested candidates must be currently eligible to work in the US AND must not require work authorization sponsorship in the future. About the opportunity: Perform failure analysis and fault isolation in partnership with experienced electrical failure analysis engineers on microelectronic devices and wafers utilizing industry standard diagnostic tools and sample prep methodologies Contribute to root cause investigations tied to development road blocks, or yield related issues within inkjet print and non-print technology Interpret test and diagnostic data perform data analysis Partner with other staff members in a world class materials and chemical analysis lab to drive towards root cause of failure

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s degree or PhD electrical engineering, with focus in microelectronics, IC’s and wafer fabrication.
  • Prefer candidates graduating in 2026 calendar year
  • Hands-on experience with SEM/FIB, IR cameras, parametric analyzers, optical microscopes, OBIRCH / PEM Localization tools, cross section
  • Previous exposure to strip back sample prep for microelectronics diagnostic testing
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take instruction and work collaboratively
  • Wafer fabrication, soldi state physics knowledge and experience interpreting wafer level electrical tests
  • Knowledge of lean problem solving
  • Knowledge of application of surface science tools like XPS, TOF SIMS, Auger Spectroscopy
  • At least one course in chemistry
  • Some knowledge of materials science is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Test print and non-print devices, components and wafers
  • Perform sample preparation for failure analysis and fault isolation
  • Summarize key data into an analysis report
  • Assist the electrical failure analysis team with setting up tests, sample prep, and data analysis
