About The Position

Internship is on-the-job training similar to an apprenticeship. Interns are college students seeking skills for, or evaluating a career. A student internship provides opportunities for students to gain experience in a field, determine if they have an interest in a particular career, create a network of contacts and potentially earn school credit. Internships may be part-time or full-time and generally last 6 – 12 weeks. The duration can be shorter or longer based on the amount of work available. The Intern performs research; establishes and maintains effective working relationships with staff to develop and coordinate programs; compiles and maintains records; understands and carries out oral and written directions; and aids in the effective production of product. The Intern ensures ProMed’s brand, philosophy, systems, policies, and procedures are properly implemented and observed.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a 2 or 4 year technical degree program or equivalent
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and contribute positively to ProMed’s culture
  • MS Office proficient
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving and time-sensitive skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal; professional, courteous and friendly personality; clearly conveys ideas and information and receives information effectively
  • Ability to create positive working relationships
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, or signal generators

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated interest in electronics, embedded systems, medical devices, or wearable technologies
  • Exposure to PCB design, schematics, breadboarding, or wiring harnesses
  • Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW
  • Enjoys sourcing components and troubleshooting electronics
  • Interest in test instrumentation, data acquisition, or validation workflows

Responsibilities

  • Projects supporting Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives
  • Projects supporting corrective action and preventive action plans, execution and reporting
  • Problem solving utilizing DMAIC approach
  • Establishes and cultivates a network of support (laboratory, quality, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing) to facilitate completion of assignments.
  • The employee is expected to develop acceptable work habits, skills, knowledge, and contributions consistent with the Intern position level.
  • This job also requires performing other duties as assigned.
