Also responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (BSEE or similar) from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- AutoCAD Electrical, MS Office & BPCS.
- HMI, PLC & Controller programming proficiency with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Watlow products as well as other platforms.
- A base understanding of Ladder Logic, Database, Function Block, & SCADA programming within MS SQL, RSLogix (5,500 & 5000), Studio 5000, Connected Components Workbench, AssetCentre, FactoryTalk (AssestCentre, View SE & ME, Transaction Manager, Historian), Composer, EZ-Zone Configurator, EasyBuilder Pro, Wonderware, WinCC, STEP 7, & TIA Portal.
Responsibilities
- Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for industrial purposes.
- Develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems and prepares electrical schematics, panel layouts, PLC programming, operator interface designs, and upgrades/enhances controls on existing products.
- Works with the design team to learn work flow, drawing preparation and BOM structure.
- Directs activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, codes, standards and customer requirements.
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Makes engineering changes/improvements within CAD environment and processes engineering change requests in a timely manner.
- Ensures customers are satisfied, consistent with expectations.
- Participates in design reviews with design team members and reads and interprets technical materials.
- Provides product support on the manufacturing floor.
- Employ both Digital/Software and Analog based methods of debugging.
