About The Position

EOS is a world leader in space information and intelligence services, optical sensor units and remote weapon systems for the land sea and air. The U.S. manufacturing facility in Huntsville, AL. This is an On-Site position. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER What will you do? Responsible for electrical/electronic designs from conception to manufacturing including library part creation, schematic capture, component placement, routing, and all documentation using the Altium Designer tool set. In addition, assist with the development of embedded software in microcontrollers. Research new components, technologies, and methods to incorporate into new designs. Undertake electrical design analyses in support of product development activities. Work with systems engineers to ensure that all requirements are identified, captured, and analyzed, such that designs can be developed that satisfy the requirements. Undertake test and evaluation activities on electrical designs to verify and sign-off of all design requirements. Interface with software, systems, and mechanical engineering disciplines to ensure that the overall design requirements are captured and accomplished. Create and review all documentation required to support electrical configuration and implementation. Work with Project Engineers to ensure design solutions are delivered on time and on budget and meet other project management requirements.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree in Engineering, computer technology or related discipline or equivalent experience with more progressively challenging work requirements
  • 5 - 7 + Years of relevant and increasing experience
  • Understanding of technical theories / concepts in field of design and manufacturing
  • Previous experience with government contractors
  • Experience with altium, cadence or mentor graphics preferred
  • Experience in building military grade cables.
  • Experience with Remote Weapons Stations (RWS) mechanical turrets/slip rings is advantageous
  • Proficiency in embedded software development and microcontroller programming
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with altium, cadence or mentor graphics preferred
  • Experience with Remote Weapons Stations (RWS) mechanical turrets/slip rings is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical/electronic designs throughout the product development lifecycle, including library part creation, schematic capture, component placement, and routing
  • Perform comprehensive electrical design analyses to support product development initiatives.
  • Execute test and evaluation procedures on electrical designs to validate compliance with design requirements
  • Support software engineers in the design and development of embedded software for microcontrollers
  • Debug and troubleshoot software and hardware interactions
  • Support the integration of software and hardware during product development.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical documentation related to embedded software design and development.
  • Prepare engineering change requests
  • Ability to work in team environment interacting with a variety of functional areas and management levels
  • Attend trade shows and live fire demonstrations as needed
