About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline (no degree substitutions permitted for this level)
  • Active DoD top secret (or higher) clearance
  • Minimum three years of full‑time professional engineering experience, including at least one year directly performing design, development, testing, or supervision of electrical systems for DoD communication networks or related infrastructure
  • Ability to independently execute the full engineering lifecycle (concept, design, prototype, test, and field installation) for electrical hardware used in defense communication environments

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a PE (Professional Engineer) license is preferred but not mandatory; any relevant industry certifications (e.g., IEC, IEEE, or DoD‑specific training) are a plus
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics, signal integrity, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and high‑frequency circuit design
  • Experience with industry design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, Cadence, or similar PCB/EDA software)
  • Familiarity with DoD engineering standards and specifications (MIL‑STD‑810, MIL‑STD‑461, etc.) and ability to produce required documentation (drawings, test plans, test reports)
  • Hands‑on testing expertise using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and environmental test chambers
  • Proven ability to coordinate with manufacturing partners and oversee production runs, ensuring quality control and conformance to design intent
  • Effective written and oral communication skills for drafting technical reports, presenting design reviews, and interfacing with program stakeholders
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of project‑management fundamentals (schedule tracking, risk identification) is advantageous
