About The Position

The Electrical Engineer designs, builds, and supports electrical control systems with a focus on control panel development, electrical assemblies, and component selection. This role owns electrical design from concept through production, including schematics, panel layouts, wiring documentation, and compliance with UL, CE, and related standards, while bridging engineering and manufacturing through hands-on build, testing, and certification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in control panel design, electrical assemblies, or industrial electrical systems required.
  • Experience developing electrical schematics and panel layouts using CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN), along with testing, debugging, and troubleshooting electrical systems and components, required.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting required, with additional PLC programming experience considered a plus.
  • Experience working with regulatory standards such as UL, NEC, IEC, CE, and RoHS required.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Solid understanding of industrial electrical systems, including AC/DC power distribution, motor controls (VFDs and servo systems), and circuit protection (relays, contactors).
  • Hands-on capability in building and wiring control panels and electrical assemblies.
  • Knowledge of electrical component selection and sourcing principles.
  • Familiarity with panel design standards and certification processes (UL, TÜV, CE, etc.).
  • Proficiency with electrical CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
  • Ability to test, troubleshoot, and debug electrical systems and components.
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems, including basic programming concepts, and familiarity with HMI systems and industrial automation.
  • Basic programming knowledge (e.g., C#, JavaScript, Python, Functional Block Diagrams).
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety, compliance, and quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience building and wiring control panels, including panel fabrication, system integration, and electrical component selection, sourcing, and qualification, strongly preferred.
  • Experience with HMI systems and industrial automation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary electrical resource for manufacturing, sales, service, purchasing, engineering, and R&D.
  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and continuously improve electrical control panels and assemblies from concept through production.
  • Create and maintain complete electrical design and documentation packages, including schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and work instructions.
  • Build, prototype, and validate control panels and electrical assemblies, including hands-on wiring, integration, testing, and debugging.
  • Select, source, and qualify electrical components (e.g., relays, contactors, power supplies, PLCs), including second-source validation.
  • Ensure compliance with UL, NEC, IEC, CE, RoHS, and related standards; develop compliant designs and coordinate with certification bodies (e.g., TÜV).
  • Support manufacturing during panel builds by troubleshooting wiring issues and resolving design discrepancies.
  • Train technicians and staff on electrical systems, panel assembly, and best practices.
  • Act as a facility resource for electrical systems and power distribution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional work and support related initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
